Change of Employer or Multiple Employers
Change of Employer
If you currently hold an ASIC due to your employment at the Airport and wish to change employers, you may transfer your ASIC.
To apply for a transfer you will require a letter from your new employer on company letterhead confirming your employment. This letter should be submitted to the issuing body of your current ASIC (Either Auscheck or Veritas) If the transfer of your ASIC stays within the issuing body, there will no fee to transfer, if your ASIC does require a re-print there will be a circa $75 fee.
If your new Employer has requested you transfer your ASIC from one issuing body to another, for example from Auscheck to Veritas, there may be significant delays to the transfer.
Working with more than one Employer?
Where an employee already holds an ASIC through one airport employer (their primary employer) and subsequently commences employment with another airport retailer (their secondary employer), the following information should be provided:
- A letter from the primary employer confirming:
- the employee's ongoing employment; and
- that the primary employer consents to the employee undertaking work for the secondary employer.
- A letter from the secondary employer confirming:
- the employee's employment with that business; and
- the employee's operational need to work at Adelaide Airport.
These documents, including this form Joint Employer Authorisation Letter should be submitted to the Pass Issue Office and provided to Adelaide Airport's Security Manager for review.
Operational Need - Examples
Example A – No change to ASIC access required
A barista working at Café A picks up additional casual shifts at Café B. Their existing ASIC access is suitable for both roles, so no access changes are likely required.
Example B – ASIC access may need updating
A retail employee takes on a secondary role in a duty free store. Their existing ASIC may require a minor access update to reflect their new operational need.
Example C – New ASIC application may be required
A retail employee takes on a secondary role as a baggage handler. As this role requires airside access and additional security requirements, a new/amedment ASIC application and additional training may be required before they can commence duties in the new role.
Each request is assessed based on the employee's operational need. If unsure, employers and employees should contact the Pass Issue Office for advice.
